Productive first test day at Monza for Polestar Cyan Racing

2017-03-14

Polestar Cyan Racing drivers Thed Björk, Néstor Girolami and Yvan Muller had a productive and strong first test day at Monza in Italy.

All three drivers were in the top ten of both sessions, but with main focus being put on various setup work rather than posting outright lap times.

”I am definitely pleased with our first day at Monza, we have followed our planned test schedule and gathered tons of data that we will work on ahead of tomorrow. The only slight hiccup was a puncture but I’d much rather have that now than during a race weekend and that is what the pre-season testing is about, preparing for the season! The car felt great and I look forward to continuing tomorrow,” said Thed Björk.

Team-mate Girolami was third fastest in the morning session and was equally happy with the progress made during the day.

”It has been a good first day and we have got plenty of work done. I have not raced at Monza since 2006, so it was really good for me to get these kilometres ahead of the second race of this season that will take place here. Now we need to dig our teeth into all data and set the programme for tomorrow,” said Néstor Girolami.
